MILLERS AT MILWAUKEE - VINTAGE INDY CAR EVENT
June 24-25, 2016 – Milwaukee Mile Race Track
The 22nd annual Millers at Milwaukee- Vintage Indy Car Event, sponsored by the Harry Miller Club, will be held June 24-25, 2016 at the famed Milwaukee Mile racetrack. The Miller event is one of the most impressive U.S. gatherings of Pre and Post-W.W. II Indy Champ Cars, Roadsters and Laydowns. Vintage race cars designed by Miller, Mercer, Kurtis, Duesenberg, Alfa Romeo, and Bugatti participate in this unique run on the Milwaukee Mile.
The gates open for the 2016 Miller event at 8:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, with vintage cars running the oval track from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday. Club President, Dana Mecum, states, “Car owners typically drive up to 100 laps on the track over the two-day event. This is a great opportunity for our entrants as well as spectators. Our entrants are passionate about their vintage cars, and are here to tell the story of vintage Indy racing to the public.”
Spectators also will enjoy the wide range of Vendors and Exhibitors that share their unique vintage and racing history! A concession stand is also open for the enjoyment of visitors.
The Millers at Milwaukee event will be the only activity occupying the track facilities this year. Our event will return to a focus on vintage Indy racing and history, as in previous years.
All Miller event spectator passes are available for purchase the day of the event. Miller Event spectators should enter the Wis. State Fair grounds at Gate 5 off of 84th St. The admission fee for the Miller Event is $25, and covers entry for the Millers at Milwaukee event on both Friday and Saturday. Miller spectators will park on the infield, after entering through the track tunnel and paying their event admission fee. The Harry Miller Club was founded by the late David Uihlein, Sr. to honor Wisconsin native Harry A. Miller (1875-1943). Miller is considered to be the greatest and most influential of American race car designers. Miller based cars and/or engines dominated championship competition in the U.S. in the 1920’s, winning 38 Indy 500 races!
